Special Services/Holidays

Rally Day
Our ‘homecoming and gathering’ worship service begins the program year. Luncheon always follows in the Dining Room.

All Saint’s Day
In this service, we remember those who have passed into God’s eternal presence in the previous year.

We mark Thanksgiving with the reception of our annual Stewardship Pledges.

Christmas Pageant
Our intergenerational Christmas Pageant is a highlight of the Advent Season and is followed by our Advent Brunch.

Christmas Eve, 5:00 & 11:00 p.m.
These are two services with lessons, carols, and candle lighting.

Renewal of Baptismal Vows
Each year, we have the opportunity to renew our baptismal vows as we hear the story of Jesus’ own baptism.

Ash Wednesday
The Season of Lent Worship begins with this Service of Meditation, along with the imposition of ashes, led by the Senior High Youth Group. Join us for the potluck dinner beforehand.

Palm Sunday
We mark the beginning of Holy Week with the story of Jesus entering Jerusalem, palms, and songs from our Children’s and Chancel Choirs.

Maundy Thursday, 7:30 p.m.
This liturgy combines a Service of Holy Communion with the Office of Tenebrae. Seven readings narrating the time between Jesus’ Last Supper and his crucifixion are narrated and interspersed with choral and instrumental meditations. After each narration, a candle is extinguished until the sanctuary is enveloped in darkness.

Easter Sunday, 10:00 a.m.
On this Sunday, we celebrate the resurrection.

Church Music Sunday
On this Sunday in May, we celebrate the gifts of our Music Ministries in a service marked by additional hymns, anthems, and music.

Confirmation Sunday/Pentecost
Students in Eighth Grade who have completed their confirmation preparation publicly affirm their baptismal vows during this special service in May.
