The Sacrament of Baptism is normally celebrated during infancy or childhood as a witness that God’s grace is given to us before we can understand, ask for, or seek it. In the Sacrament of Baptism the child’s parents, godparents or sponsors, and the congregation give witness to God’s grace which is active in the life of the child, and pledge to nurture the one being baptized in Christian faith. This is why the Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated during Sunday morning worship when the congregation may participate. Baptism is not celebrated during the season of Lent. Baptisms may be scheduled in consultation with the Senior Pastor.
